Alternative High School Equivalency 
The Adult Diploma Program is under the guidance of the Ohio Department of Education.
 
The Adult Diploma Program provides an extraordinary opportunity for adults, 18 years of age and older, to earn a high school diploma equivalency AND industry recognized training and credential aligned to one of Ohio’s in-demand jobs. 
Upon meeting all requirements, the program pays for testing, books, and tuition for the student. 
 
Program Completion Steps
- Meet minimum WorkKeys Scores. [See Below]
- Successfully pass occupational training program [EMT, MA, NA, or PHL]
- Pass the occupational training program’s licensure/certification exam.
- Obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma from ODE.
 
Eligible Occupational Training Programs for Adult Diploma 
There are four occupational training programs at the Pike County Career Technology Center that are eligible for the Adult Diploma Program:
  1. Emergency Medical Technician
  2. Medical Assistant
  3. Nursing Assistant
  4. Phlebotomy

Program: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Test Section / Minimum Score 
Applied Math / 3
Workplace Docs / 5
Graphic Literacy / 4
And a composite score of 14 or higher
 
Program: Medical Assistant 
Test Section / Minimum Score 
Applied Math / 4
Workplace Docs / 5
Graphic Literacy / 4
And a composite score of 14 or higher
 
Program: Nursing Assistant 
Test Section / Minimum Score

Classes to prepare or to improve WorkKeys scores
Pike CTC offers FREE classes to anyone who would like to prepare for the ACT WorkKeys tests or to those who would like to improve their scores.  
The classes are available during the day, evening, or through a hybrid distance learning model. 
 
Students can start the registration process by contacting the Pike County Career Technology Center Adult Education Office at 740-289-2282. Seating in each program is limited.
