Science
Description of the Course:
This course is designed to help the student understand the basic concepts of science. Topics will cycle through a series of everyday topics and the various scientific principles that help to guide these topics. The course will largely center around group activities, lecture material presented by the instructor, class discussions, and research assignments.
As the end of the year approaches, it will be the goal of the class to reconsider basic science principles and gain a deeper understanding of the complex issues that face the scientific community in regards to our environment and in some cases what we as individuals can do to help.

Description of the Course:
This chemistry course is designed to introduce students to the broad world of chemistry and to prepare students for collegiate work beyond high school. This is accomplished by acquainting the student with models and research methods common to many scientific areas. Throughout the course of the year, students will be asked to read, analyze, research, experiment, and solve problems. Hopefully, the student will find this course both challenging and enjoyable along the way.

Advanced Biology
Description of the Course:
This biology course is designed as an introduction to and expansion upon basic biological principles in the world around us. Students will focus on microbiology and genetics in the first portion of the year and the focus will shift to macrobiology in the latter portion of the year. As the year progresses, the focus will be based on the concerns and applications of biological knowledge in regard to health care fields.
